Wine & Grape Harvest Festival in Melnik

August end to mid September is harvest season in Bulgaria’s wine country. The changing colors of fall – red, yellow and orange shades make the vines & trees so picturesque. These harvest months are full of excitement, the smell of roasting peppers in the villages & grannies gathering supplies for winter season. It’s time for celebration and for many fun activities such as grape stomping, wine tasting, traditional folk dances & festivals.

In this picture beautiful Militza Zikatanova, the co-owner and executive of Villa Melnik Family Winery is wearing the traditional Bulgarian double apron costume. Traditional Bulgarian outfits are a mix of ancient Ottoman & Slavic embroidered garments. And this combination of tastes and culture is incredibly rich.

You look great Militza! Enjoy the harvest season and changing fall colors of Melnik. Please save us a bottle of 2018 Bergule Rose. 😊Cheers!!! 🍷🥂🇧🇬
