Eskimos Brave the Snow, Mykonions Stand in the Face of Winds

Meltemi is annual northern wind that can rock the Aegean Islands. From late July through early October the island is constantly sand blasted and unwillingly one is forced to eat dirt. It’s the wind that shaped Mykonos. Early 16th century windmills of Mykonos served the purpose of grinding wheat & barley, rightfully utilizing the power of the emperor of Aegean. We visited Mykonos in late April and felt the effect of Meltemi even then. Mykonos still remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Cyclades. 🥂🇬🇷
