Sir Kostadin Chorbadzhiyski born in Petrich is the founding father of Orbelia Winery, situated in village Kolarovo near Petrich, Bulgaria. He is often considered Petrich’s first wine connoisseur.
Kostadin earned his graduate degree in Nutrition Engineering Technology and straightaway applied the knowledge to his passion of viticulture & winemaking. Since the fall of communism Kostadin knew that newly reformed Bulgarian wine industry is unleashed and one day the region of Struma Valley would produce the greatest wines in Europe.
A strong-willed and passionate Kostadin applied his favorite hobby at his heritage vineyards & started his winery in 2013. He is a symbol of traditions and excellence in what he believes and what he does well. Kostadin is a hard working man and has been building his winery gradually with great confidence to produce some of the finest wines of Bulgaria. The soil of Kolarovo talks to Kostadin and there is not a day when he is not seen out & about in sun nurturing his vineyards and giving his love to his beloved “Orbelia”.
