Sintica Winery, Symbol of Thracian Traditions in Sunny Struma Valley

Founded In 2008, Sintica Winery is named after old Thracian tribe and situated in Struma Valley of Southwestern Bulgaria. Sintica Winery is a combination of Thracian traditions and modern innovation. The wineries complex preserves many rare and exotic plant species-Ginkobiloba, Parnar, olives, cypresses, palms, citrus trees, persimmon and others. The landscape of Sintica remains the same from old times with a little construction around its harmonious botanical gardens.

Sintica Winery has 325 acres of lush vineyards that produce world-renowned grape varietals such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Rubin, Sandanski Misket and Early Melnik grape using French elite planting techniques. Sintica’s vineyards are located in the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica, near picturesque and breathtakingly gorgeous landscape of Rupite. Sandanski gets over 2506 hours of bright sunshine that is largest amount of sun in the entire country. The region gets mild winter with only a handful foggy days which is just appropriate for vines to rest in dormancy.

Built as a classical mansion cellar, Sintica preserved its unique underground cellar from the past to store and age their vintage wines. A natural temperature of 14º C and ventilation in their underground cellar is just ideal for wine storage and aging. The cellar has a capacity of eight hundred casks of the type “baroques” and in its walls there is a built-in niche for maturation of wines in bottles. The winery is built in collaboration with expert Bulgarian and Italian designers and leading construction partners. Sintica is known as an established foot print and a state-of-the-art modern winery in the region, with growing capacity of producing 500,000 liters of wine each year.

Sintica’s suite of wines produced from the grapes in their very own vineyards include, Saugvinon Blanc, Rose, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rubin, Syrah, Melnik crafted from early Melnik. Their tasting room is open for visitors and their commitment to impart wine tasting etiquettes continues through their friendly staff. From beginners to seasoned aficionado, Sintica offers tastings of their hand-crafted wines to suit every palate. Highly recommend to check out Sintica and their famous wines crafted locally.
